More than 85 percent of long-term care for individuals with complex conditions is provided by one or more family members.

Family caregivers provide many different forms of help, but without the benefit of training, support, or strategies for managing daily care challenges and their own distress.

The Confident Caregiver program is designed to prepare any health and human service professional in any community-based or healthcare setting to support family caregivers of people with complex conditions. It does this by enhancing the caregiver’s confidence, offering validation, and sharing education and specific strategies to help caregivers address their most pressing care challenges and take care of themselves.
